Straight Stretch Highway No 2 | N 44.59.21 W 74.56.56 | Santa Cruz, Ontario, Canada

A straight stretch of Highway 2 parallel to what once was the edge of a fast flowing St Lawrence River. With its views of the spectacular, roaring Long Sault Rapids, Santa Cruz was a popular tourist stop on the route between Toronto and Montreal. The volume of water through the Long Sault rapids was greater than over Niagara Falls; they fell silent with the construction of the Seaway.
