Sediment Plume | N 44.55.27 W 75.07.29 | Riverside Heights, Ontario, Canada

Sediment carried into the St Lawrence River from a flooded creek after a period of extended rain in the fall of 2011. The plume, shaped at its base by currents flowing over the old CNR rail bed, dissipates into the blue green waters of the otherwise crystal clear St Lawrence. The remains of a building can be seen upstream. A portion of the King’s Highway No 2 is also visible.

This area is close to where the Battle of Crysler’s farm occurred in 1813.
